Here
is an easy, fun and environmentally friendly project for Halloween. It can be
as elaborate or simple as you want. My favorite part of this
project is how every item you make will be unique to your home.
The
items you will need for this project are:
Tape-
I used masking tape, because that was all we had
Scissors
or some type of blade to cut through cardboard
Cardboard-careful
this stuff gives the worst paper cuts
Tissue
paper-to block a little light out from window
All
you need to do is get your piece of cardboard and either trace the outline of
your design out or freehand it…we were feeling brave so we skipped the tracing
and went for it.
Trace
and cut out whatever shapes will enhance your design. We kept it simple and did
a Jack-O-Lantern so all we had to do was cut out a few triangles and a jagged
mouth.
Once
you have things to the point you think it will work, hold it up to see how it
looks in your window. It's really nice if you have an eager kiddo to help you.
Tape
it to your window and cover any parts of the window that are not covered by the
cardboard with your tissue paper.
The
hardest part was waiting until the sun went down to turn the lights on. We had
a great time standing in front of the house and checking out our spooky window.
When it's time to take it down you can either save it for next year or send it off for recycling.
