PLASTICS!

We have had numerous customers asking about household plastic recycling. Some cities have stopped accepting all plastics in curbside recycling. We want to let our community know what we are doing to help and what plastics we can accept.

These plastics are all collected as a community service and are nonprofit at this point. We really want to keep Utah green and reduce the plastic impact on our environment. We can currently only accept the household plastics listed below. If other plastics are turned in with these, we may discontinue accepting plastics from the public.

With all the changes in the plastic markets here is what we are currently accepting:

  • HDPE 2
    • Milk Jugs
    • Must have HDPE 2 symbol on bottoms
    • Must be empty, clean and rinsed

  • PETE 1
    • Water bottles and Soda bottles
    • Must have PETE 1 on the bottom
    • Must be empty. Rinsing is up to the customer
      • Rinsing reduces risk of insects and other pests

Lids from the bottles are accepted with the items.
Each plastic type must be separated.

We will update our website and newsletter with any new changes in what plastics we are processing. If you have any questions, please email lisa at bloomrecyclers.com.
